Blog 3.5

My
app is ones that may be used from Kindergarten to about 2nd grade.
-Mathmateer,
IS a children’s app and game that is both
creative, fun, interesting and most importantly educational. In this app
children select their age and based on that selection they are asked math
questions such as simple adding and subtracting. Normally this would not
entertain children what’s so ever, however--- in this case it is different
because from answering questions you receive money to build a rocket ship to go
to space. The fun thing is that you can also choose what your ships will look
like and what is on board, making the children get very creative an driven in
order to continue solving math problems.
This
app costs nothing which is great for everyone , even people wo don’t like to
spend money on apps and also teaches young minds how to get familiar with using
a computer and or tablet which I also essential in todays day and age.

-Counting Caterpillar
Another
app that is targeted to the young minds of about 4-5. This game is one that my
baby cousins play—so I can speak from experience is on that appeals and keeps
young minds entertained even though they are training their minds in the field
of math. The pretty colors and smooth music makes it very appealing to children
and beneficial to them.
The game involves the player Feeding the caterpillars
by counting and catching aphids in the correct number sequence and earn
butterflies and you are able to progress up to 45 levels, making it a long game
that keeps the children working and anticipating what will happen and how the
scene will change during the next level.
This app is one that costs 1.99 in the app store , therefore it
is not free and is only available on the Android market and App store.

-Mathly Hollows
Its primary appeal is from ages 6-9.
This app/ game is one that is very appealing
to many children because it involves something many kids like…. Monsters. In
the game The monsters are attacking, Children must
protect Mathly Hollows from the onslaught by using math skills to work towards
the Master Wizard of Math title. There are Pet monsters and powerful friends
act as rewards and treats to encourage to keep kids motivated during the game
and also this app addresses curriculum based on the Common Core State Standards
in math, which is beneficial for school and has the capability of moving the
children ahead in math skills .
This App cost 1.99 in the app store and is a great investment
for parents as their children will enjoy doing math rather then math being a
dry subject in school which was my experience

TallyTots
TallyTots Counting is a game designed for young children that is
an action-packed app that helps kids learn the 123s with 20 mini-games with all
different scenarios, which appeal to almost anyone.
Since this game is designed to teach kids the basics of learning
and counting this app fits right in the criteria of young mind teachings just
like the other three apps I have mentioned
I would recommend that parents or guardians are present with
their children while playing the game at first and helping them get to the
game, as it is sometimes difficult to figure it out on the menu of the app.
This app is once again priced at 1.99 making it a very fair price
for a very beneficial game.
marek,
ReplyDeletenice resources for k-6 students! too bad i couldn't see the images that you inserted but your summaries were good. i like that you researched apps instead of websites...something different! you didn't really address the skills needed for each app, but other than that good job.
